From the founder

I built this from the other side.

Moving to Sydney was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It’s also been one of the loneliest.

In 2024, my partner Jess moved over a few months before I did. When I said goodbye to my mum and nan at Heathrow, I saw how far away Australia could feel. Since then it’s been Christmas without my family, barely seeing my best friends, and friends getting married and having children I’ve never met.

If someone you love has moved out here, there’s a good chance they won’t tell you the hard parts. The new life looks great on the phone. The quiet Tuesdays don’t make the call.

So I started building something, half project, half coping mechanism. For eight months, my evenings and weekends went into one idea: a way for the people at home to make someone smile on the other side of the world, and genuinely feel closer to them.

That became Same Skies. You order from the UK, we hand-pack it here in Sydney, and it never makes the 17,000km trip.

It’s not just a gift box. It’s a way to be there when you can’t be.
